An opportunity has arisen to join the Finance team in the newly created role of Prospective Resident Liaison Officer. This is a part time position at 0.8 EFT. The position reports to the Financial Accounting Manager and will liaise strongly with key parties including the Residential Services Directors of Nursing, Unit Managers of Residential Facilities, Business Manager Residential Services and Residential Services Officers.

This exciting position will provide clinical, marketing and administrative support to Ballarat Health Services ten residential aged care facilities to ensure the efficient and effective provision of services and long term viability. The role will include a variety of tasks including clinical assessment of prospective residents to determine appropriateness of placement, marketing of facilities and liaison between facilities and prospective residents/families including facility tours and admissions processes. The role is also responsible for maintenance of target occupancy levels.

BHS is seeking a person with well-developed interpersonal, conceptual and analytical skills and the ability to negotiate persuade and gain commitment at senior levels in a complex organisational environment. The successful applicant will possess a relevant clinical qualification e.g. Nursing, Occupational Therapy. Experience in aged care or health administration is desirable. Experience in the financial aspects of residential aged care would be well regarded.

The successful applicant will be eligible to participate in a generous salary packaging program.

The initial appointment will be fixed term for 12 months subject to review.
